Upscale amenities are the order of the day at Avalon - with the separate properties providing a variety of perks that include pro shops, fine dining and grille rooms, locker rooms with showers, fitness and recreational activities, game rooms (pool tables and arcade games), banquet/event and meeting rooms, swimming pools, top notch practice facilities, and of course, the beautiful golf experiences. SQUAW CREEK REVIEW
The Squaw Creek layout features 5 sets of tee areas that play to distances and slopes measuring 7372 yards/133 slope, 7013 yards/127 slope, 6528 yards/124 slope, 5886 yards/116 slope for men and 128 for women, and 4990 yards with a slope of 120 for ladies hitting from the forward tees.
There are 42 sand bunkers situated greenside or near the landing zones off the tee, and water hazards come into play on 8 holes. There is a mix of wide open and tightly tree lined holes, all playing over a fairly level terrain. There is ample room to grip it and rip it, and players will need length off the tee to score well here. Creek crossings on several holes demand good course strategy.
The golf carts are equipped with Pro link GPS, which provides accurate information from tee to pin. On property are beautiful clubhouse facilities that include Cassanova's Fine Dining establishment, a bar & grill, a fitness center, swimming pool and tennis courts, plus a banquet/special event hall. Full practice facilities include a grass range, short game area with sand bunker plus putting green.
Prime time weekend rates in 2007 topped out at around $85 walking (allowed at all times) and $100 including cart, on this finely conditioned course. For more info, visit our page for the Squaw Creek, with direct link to their website by clicking here.
