SUGARBUSH GOLF CLUB (330-527-4202)
Ohio Golf Course Review
Sugarbush Golf Club in Garrettsville about 35 miles southeast of Cleveland, is an 18-hole Harold Paddock design that has been awarded 4 stars out of 5 by Golf Digest Places to Play. Designated as "Nature's Best" by the Warren Tribune Chronicle, this course is considered a hidden gem that features a challenging topography with scenic rolling hills, tree lined fairways and beautiful flowing creeks.
Considered to be one of the sportiest layouts in the Cleveland area, Sugarbush is a great place for golf outings and special events. Indoor and outdoor facilities include a banquet hall that can accommodate up to 175 guests. The clubhouse also features a pro shop, locker rooms with showers for men and women, and snack area with breakfast sandwiches and lunch items.
Water comes into play on 3 holes, and there are 25 soft sand bunkers situated along the landing zones and greenside. On course yardage discs are present on the fairways at 100, 150 and 200 yards, and sprinkler heads are measured to the center of the green. Pampas bushes are also positioned on the sides at the 150 yard area and color coded flags indicate front, middle or back hole locations.
There are 4 sets of tee boxes on each hole, with distances and slopes measuring 6571 yards/120 slope, 6182 yards/116 slope, 5526 yards/119 slope and 4627 yards with a slope of 110 from the red tees. As the slope ratings indicate, this is a user friendly layout that can be enjoyed by all levels of golfers.
The terrain is quite rolling and at times dramatic, with numerous elevated tee areas and raised green complexes. Practice facilities include a putting and chipping green (no range). For more information, visit our page for the course, with direct link to their website by clicking here.
