Roses Run Country Club in Stow just southeast of Cleveland is a par 72, 18-hole championship course designed by Brian Huntley and upon opening in 1999, was nominated as one of the top new golf courses in the Country. Rated 3-1/2 stars by Golf Digest Places to Play, Roses Run is set in quiet, natural surroundings along the scenic Cuyahoga River.
The property is popular for outings, meetings, wedding receptions, and other events as it features three separate banquet rooms that can accommidate groups up to 300 people. The total capacity of the combined Derby Room - Belmont/Preakness Room can host up to 700 guests. The well-lit outdoor patio is available for day or nighttime events.
The The clubhouse also features a 2,500 square-foot pro shop plus restaurant/lounge with outdoor patio - with dinner specials plus a whole itinerary of seasonal parties and events that are open to the public. Wednesday is ladies night, and is designated as "Crabby Wednesday" with great rates on crab leg and steak dinners. Thursday nights in the summer, the patio is home to the famous Patio Party. Golfers can enjoy breakfast, lunch and dinner menus at the Bar & Grill. Practice facilities include a driving range with mat and grass hitting stations, plus a putting/chipping green.
The golf course features two distinctive nines, with the front side more score-able and the back side much more difficult - with some long and challenging par fours and threes. There are 4 forced carries over a creek on the back side, and water comes into play on 11 holes in all. Sand also plays an important role, as 64 recently rebuilt & refilled bunkers are strategically situated near the landing zones or greens.
Four sets of tees play to distances and slopes measuring 6859 yards/128 slope, 6527 yards/122 slope, 6104 yards/119 slope and 4964 yards with a slope of 116 from the red tees. Some sprinkler heads are measured to the center of the green, and yardage plates are located on the fairways at 100, 150 and 200 yards. Color coded flags indicate front, middle or back pin placements.
