Quarry Golf Club (330) 488-3178
The Quarry Golf Club, located just minutes East of Downtown Canton, was built on an old quarry dating back to the 1800's. This unique target-style 7,015 yard par 72 golf course consists of natural waste areas, 100 foot plus cliffs, streams, and deep water lakes. These unforgettable land features wind through and around each hole, giving them their own unique identity.
Although a quarry site, the course is predominantly wooded with many tree-lined fairways. The course features bent grass tees, greens and fairways framed by rock outcroppings and native grasses. Several tee shots are visually intimidating, but do not be deceived – the landing areas are much more generous than they appear. Fairway landing zones are sloping and hilly, and surrounded by mounded rough. Many greens are multi tiered making hole locations valued information.
The property features a beautiful clubhouse strategically located on the tip of a huge quarry lake which offers dramatic views of the finishing holes, and a full practice facility with range balls is included in the green fees. Clubhouse amenities include a stocked pro shop, a grill room, banquet facilities indoors and on the patio, and locker rooms with showers. The practice area includes a range with target greens, a putting green, and a short game area with sand bunker
All power carts include GPS with accurate yardage measurements to hazards, bunkers, and flagsticks. Flagsticks are color coded to provide front, middle and back hole locations. 31 bunkers are situated near greens and fairway landing zones, and water comes into play on 11 holes adding to the challenges of the quarry.
There are five sets of tee boxes that play to distances and slopes measuring 7015 yards/139 slope, 6608 yards/135 slope, 6313 yards/130 slope, 5970 yards/ 125 slope for men and 130 slope for women, and 4878 yards with a slope of 117 for women playing the forward tees. As the score card indicates, this is a challenging course with a variety of tees to choose from - allowing beginners and high handicap players to move up and enjoy the experience that scratch golfers can enjoy from the tops.
