NEW ALBANY LINKS GOLF CLUB (614-855-8532)
Ohio Golf Course Review
New Albany Links is a Barry Serafin championship design with rolling fairways bordered by natural wetlands, mature woodlands, meandering streams and native grasses. Five sets of tee areas provide golfers of all skill levels with an opportunity to enjoy a fair yet challenging round.
The tips play to 7064 yards with a 133 slope, while alternate sets measure in distance and slope – 6570 yards/125 slope, 6228 yards 121 slope for men and 131 for women, 5957 yards and 5551 yards with a slope of 123 for ladies hitting from the forward tees.
On course sprinkler heads are measured to the center of the green and 100, 150 and 200 yards (plus 250 on par fives) are posted on both the cart paths and fairways. Hold location info is provided for on each score card, which also features diagrams for each hole.
Facilities include a new driving range plus putting and chipping greens. The clubhouse includes a nicely stocked pro shop, Vito's Restaurant/lounge (with full menus), locker rooms with showers and a swimming pool, tennis courts and workout area for members and guests, and a tent pavilion that serves as a function area for outings and events.
The terrain is gently rolling with some sloping fairways defined by perimeter mounding, which also is a feature on several green complexes. The large putting surfaces are well protected by sand bunkers, as 74 traps can be found greenside or near the landing zones off the tee. Water hazards come into play in some shape or form on 11 holes. Golfers will encounter two fairly distinctive nines, with the backside featuring more undulations.
This residential, links inspired layout is one of the area's most popular courses, and one of the region's best golf values, with fine conditioning and convenient, well appointed amenities. For more info, visit our page for the course, with direct link to their website by clicking here.
