INDIAN RIDGE GOLF CLUB (513)524-4653
Ohio Golf Course Review
Indian Ridge Golf Club was built in the late 1980's on a sprawling farmland located just south of Oxford. This 7001 yard par 72 layout features gently rolling terrain that winds through walnut and cedar trees, and beautiful natural scenery providing a relaxing yet challenging round for golfers of all skill levels. This well conditioned course and the beautiful clubhouse facilities provide a country club atmosphere in a public course setting.
Four sets of tee boxes play to distances and slopes measuring 7001 yards/132 slope, 6531 yards/128 slope, 6022 yards/122 slope, and 5063 yards with a slope of 117 from the front tees. There are 58 soft sand bunkers with a great variance of sizes and shapes situated near the landing zones along the manicured fairways, or greenside. Nine holes on course feature water in the form of small ponds set off the sides of fairways and greens, and in some cases must be carried off the tees.
The on course yardage marking system includes colored plates in the middle of the fairways at 100, 150, and 200 yards from center green along with 150 yard posts. Pin placement information is provided on all scorecards with three possible locations. Golf Logix GPS devices are available for rent from the pro shop and provide accurate yardage to the pin from anywhere on the course.
The first three holes are a flatter links style, and then the next three go through wood hilly terrain. This trend continues to the 18th green as both the front and back nines wind through two separate areas of this beautiful layout. There are a couple of blind tee shots off the tees and the medium sized putting surfaces are well protected by bunkers and mounding.
On property is a beautiful clubhouse which includes a well stocked pro shop, and a bar and grill serving lunch items. There is also a patio level which seats up to 170 people along with a covered outdoor pavilion that can hold 150 more providing ample room for large outings and banquets. Practice facilities feature a targeted grass range, short game area with sand bunker, and a large putting green.
