Cumberland Trail Golf Club in Pataskala (Central Ohio region) is a mildly rolling tradition woodlands style layout designed by the team of Hurdzan/Fry. This championship course is built along a mild terrain with wide landing zones and mildly sloping green complexes, and is recognized form its outstanding conditioning and service.
The course features 5 sets of tee areas with the tips playing to 7205 yards with a 132 slope, while alternate sets measure in distance and slope – 6805 yards/127 slope, 6403 yards/ 124 slope, 5469 yards/119 slope and 4925 yards with a slope of 114 for those hitting from the forward tees.
On course sprinkler heads are measured to the center of the with 150 yard stakes present on the fairways of all par fours and fives. Hole location info is provided for by color coded flags that are positioned on the front, center or back of the mildly sloped green complexes.
Facilities on property include a full service practice area with putting and chipping greens with sand bunker plus targeted grass driving range. The clubhouse includes a nicely stocked pro shop, grill and lounge serving breakfast and lunch items, a 2nd story patio for dining with views of the 18th green, plus banquet facilities that can accommodate up to 150 guests for outings and special events.
The course winds through a residential community that is far removed from the playing surfaces, creating a natural, secluded feel. Long hitters will love this course, as there is ample room to grip it and rip it on most holes off the tee. The greens are often open in front, with plentiful recovery room. Hit it long and straight sand good scores can be had.
